NordForsk is an independent Nordic organization under the Nordic Council of Ministers and works within Education and Research. In this respect, the Nordic region consists of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Åland. Here, digital transformation is seen as a necessity and an opportunity to improve public services for citizens. Therefore, a research and innovation programme on digitalization of the public sector has been established and is administered by NordForsk.

The Nordic region is considered digitally mature when it comes to the public sector. However, there is a strong political desire to improve both the efficiency and governance of public services through increased digitalization in the Nordic countries. Digital Post is one example of this.

Among the overarching goals is to foster collaborations between researchers, service providers and users at all levels and across public and private sectors. No one wants digitalization to create inequality. If digitalization creates barriers that put some citizens at a disadvantage compared to others, then inequality has been created.

At Aliro Docs, we are committed to improving the quality of life for people with visual impairments or disabilities by helping public authorities and private actors comply with web accessibility legislation. When website content is made fully accessible, the risk of digitalization creating inequality among citizens in the Nordic countries is reduced.

Together, let's improve the quality of life for people with visual impairments or disabilities and contribute to a fully inclusive digitalized society now and in the future.
