Mads has been part of Aliro Docs since the beginning. He is primarily involved in the production of ALT texts, where Mads is now an experienced master. Originally an architect, Mads trained as an architect, but during a downturn in the construction industry, he trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in something new in the 90s - web design. This led him to Schultz Grafisk, where for a number of years he was part of the backbone of a small department that specialized in delivering accessible html publications according to the "Statens standard for electronic publishing". Here Mads worked with Jens and Robert for a period of time, helping customers with publications and accessibility.

From there he went to Vester Kopi as a team leader in Cross-Media, where he primarily developed webshop solutions before one of life's circumstances got in the way. Unfortunately, Mads has Parkinson's disease, which means that Mads has been referred to a flex job at Aliro Docs.

Being in a flex job, and thus still having the opportunity to have a connection to the labor market, means a lot to Mads. "Despite my reduced ability to work, it gives me a sense of contributing a little to the national economy, which I also benefit from, and not least, it provides me with an interface to the world outside the four walls of my home." Mads is happy with the flexibility that Aliro Docs offers. In particular, the ability to work from home naturally limits social interaction, but in Mads' situation, it also allows him to adapt his work to a daily schedule that can fluctuate more than the "norm", which is good for him.

When Mads is not working, he loves to spend his time ornithologizing, fishing, drawing, painting and writing. Perhaps many of these interests are a result of growing up in West Jutland. Drawing and painting in particular act as a kind of therapy for him, he has previously said. It's as if the symptoms of Parkinson's disappear when Mads sits down to paint and draw. His body is calm. Mads has his own website, ejrnaes.dk, where you can learn more about Mads and all his interests.

At Aliro Docs, we love Mads' work, sense of humor and black humor, so we asked him the question: What makes you happy?

"It could be a long list, but to end where I began. Long story short. The changing of the seasons".
