The PDF Association was founded in Germany in 2006 as a non-profit organization and was originally known as the PDF/A Competence Center. In 2011, the organization became the PDF Association and expanded its scope to include all aspects of PDF technology.
The PDF Association is an international collaboration of member organizations and individuals committed to a platform for the development of open specifications and standards for PDF technology.
Today, the PDF Association's membership includes companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies and individual consultants from around the world.
